With the compact Kim (Trekkies will know to take the name as an homage to Ensign Kim), FinkTeam has succeeded in creating a loudspeaker that captivates its listeners from the very first moment, turns on and inspires. Besides unheard of musicality, this is probably due to the fact that the compact loudspeaker doesn't sound.

The FinkTeam KIM is a fairly easy-to-drive loudspeaker, with its 86 dB sensitivity and 8-ohm nominal impedance that never dips below 5.9 ohms. The KIM employs an 8" woofer with a 38mm voice coil, which crosses over to the AMT tweeter at 2200 Hz.

For those of us on this side of the pond, each speaker with its stand is roughly 33.6" high, 11.8" wide,12.2" deep and weighs 55.3 lbs. The big takeaway here is that, given the KIMs' size and weight, their construction is formidable. As mentioned earlier, the speakers are supplied with adjustable spikes and/or hardwood-friendly rounded.

FinkTeam's Kim stand-mounted speakers are in fact complex and out of the ordinary. They come with metal speaker stands bolted to the bottom of the cabinet. The stainless steel stands tilt the speakers backward approximately ten or fifteen degrees. In theory that makes the speaker drivers dispersion patterns time aligned.
